2024 Florida Adventure - Jan/Feb

Hey fam and friends! Just getting around to posting pix from our time in Florida from mid-Jan to mid-Feb. Here ya go!

Landon, MacDuff and I had 3 days together on the drive south from

Virginia before Landon flew to Prague for his semester abroad. Landon got a head start on Euro culture by playing a game of outdoor chess in Santee, SC. (True facts: MacDuff mated him in 7 moves.)

Lisa flew into Miami and we headed down into the Keys. First stop: Duval Street!

Nothing says "Key West" like Key Lime Pie on a Stick! Shout out to Jen Faulconer for that winner of a recommendation :-)

We didn't really know until we got down there that a good beach is hard to find, but we discovered our happy place at Sombrero Beach on Marathon Key.

82 degrees and a nice breeze is a good way to spend a day in January. Trust MacDuff on this one.

The Keys is full of lovely scenery.

Speaking of....Lisa and I met on 1/23/1997 and celebrated our 27th "Meeting Day" anniversary eating bad pizza under a good tiki hut. I like any restaurant that doesn't care if MacDuff puts his head on the table.

Places like that are easy to come by in the Keys!

After 2 weeks of our version of the Salt Life, Lisa flew home from Miami and MacDuff and I explored 7 of Florida's state parks. I prefer mountains but Florida does have its own brand of beauty.

Next up...Lisa and I go to Europe in May to see Landon in Prague and do some traveling all together. Can't wait. Stay tuned!
