Hey there, delightful friends and lovely family! I'm just back from a magical 3 week trip to Europe, my first non-Airstream adventure since before that pandemicky thing we're all trying to forget ever happened :-)
Here's a handful of pix from the first few days of the trip, when Lisa and I visited Munich and Salzburg before joining Landon in Prague.
Not hard to see why the Glockenspiel in Marienplatz is the most iconic structure in Munich...

We spent most of a day touring the Residenz, a Bavarian Palace with 130 rooms open to the public. This one was sorta nice, and we had it pretty much to ourselves (May is a fantastic time to visit Europe).

You don't know me very well if you're unaware that I am fond of beer. So you can understand why I was dismayed when I thought this sign indicated that Munich was an Alcohol Free Hell.

Fortunately, it turned out that I was absolutely incorrect! Lisa dried my tears and led me to the Hofbrauhaus, where they serve tasty brews in formidable mugs :-)

Munich is a beautiful city and very easy explore on foot. I'll spare you the hundreds of photos I took and leave you with this one, from the interior of the Asamkirche, built by 2 brothers in the 1730s to be their own private church. Mind......blown.

After 2 days in Munich we hopped a train to Salzburg. Lisa didn't let a little rain dampen her sunny spirits:

We had great weather on our second day...

...perfect for the Sound of Music tour! You really should do this if you visit Salzburg, even if you're not a big fan of the movie. Singing on the bus with 100 other tourists from all over the world? Check!

Visiting Mirabell Gardens and other sites around Salzburg featured in the movie?

Check!

You really feel like you're living in a fairy tale when you walk around Salzburg.

I sure am glad this princess...

...kissed this frog :-)

I'm going to enjoy this beer and think about how lucky I am. But don't go far, fam and friends...stay tuned for Chapter Two -- Prague and Budapest!

Ah...I did figure out how to sign up...steel-trap mind, mine...
Helen
FAB FOTOS! I, too, am glad she kissed the frog! From Helen in California...( I can't figure out how to become a member of the IN crowd)
Salzburg-beautiful; Mozartkugel-gross
