After Salzburg our adventure continued to Prague where we got to meet up with Landon, who had been studying abroad there since January.

This was his final college semester, and since he wasn't in Blacksburg to walk in graduation, we had a little celebration with his friends in Prague!

Really proud of this guy. He's come a long way and is heading up up up.

If you've never been to Prague, I highly recommend it. It really is one marvelous structure after another. The only reason not to go there is you will get a little tired of looking up with your jaw dropped and saying "can you believe that building?"

Here are some examples:

It was great to have Landon show us around "his Prague"

And it was especially nice for Lisa because it was Mother's Day :-)

We even got to see his favorite Karaoke Bar!

You never know what might happen while you're exploring Prague.

And if you think that's something, check out these lovebirds!

From Prague, we did a "transfer tour" to Budapest with a few interesting stops along the way. The first was Lednice Castle, a UNESCO world heritage site in the southern edge of the Czech Republic.

And then a few hours in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. It's not nearly as transporting a city as Prague, Vienna, or Budapest...but if you're in the area, pop in and spend an afternoon exploring.

Budapest, like Prague, is chock full of one architectual wonder after another.

Beautiful 70 degree sunny days made it even nicer. Mid-May really is a fantastic time to visit Europe.

Landon made friends wherever we went. Like here, when he buddied up with some strange guy in an orange baseball cap.

I'm not a foodie, but I'm going to make an exception and post this picture of Lisa's dinner at an Italian restaurant near our Budapest hotel. Take a moment to drool and then we'll move on to the next photo.

As you know by now, I do like posting pictures of beer...especially when it is served in a "Ruins Bar." A Budapest thing is that they repurpose defunct buildings into beer garden/art spaces.

Lisa is more a coffee woman. Yes, she will sign autographs LOL

Sometimes Budapest can be thrilling. Even a little scary!
But mostly it is just beautiful. Definitely do an evening cruise on the Danube when you're in town.

Landon and I sat on a bridge for awhile to have one last visit on our final night in Budapest.

Great way to finish out our time together before Lisa and Landon headed to Italy and I went north to Poland and Latvia. Stay tuned for that in Chapter 3!
